Recall: Speak to Remember
Who we are
Recall: Speak to Remember ("the App") is an iOS application developed and published by Richard Baecker ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the App handles. The short version: the App keeps your data on your device.
Data the App collects
We collect none. The App contains no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no user accounts, and does not communicate with any developer-operated server.
Recall stores decks, cards and study history only on your device (and your own encrypted iCloud backups if enabled). Study statistics are computed locally and never leave your device. There are no accounts, no servers and no analytics.
Microphone and speech recognition (spoken review)
When — and only when — you start a spoken review session, the App listens through your iPhone's microphone and transcribes your answer using Apple's speech recognition running on your device. The audio is processed in the moment to produce the transcript; it is not recorded, not stored, not transmitted to us, and not shared with anyone. Only the transcript text is held in the App's local session state and discarded when the session ends. If on-device recognition is unavailable for your language or device, spoken review is unavailable and nothing is sent to a server. You can deny microphone or speech-recognition permission and still use every other feature (a typed-answer fallback is provided), and you can revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
Purchases
Purchases of the App's optional auto-renewable subscription ("Recall Full", 39,99 € per year) are processed entirely by Apple through App Store In-App Purchase. We never see your payment details, your identity, or your purchase history beyond anonymous aggregate sales reports provided by Apple.
Children
The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13, because it does not collect personal information at all.
Your rights
Because all data remains on your device under your control, deleting the App deletes your data. If you have questions, contact us at info.recall.apps@gmail.com.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the App materially changes how information is handled, we will update this page and the App Store listing before that version ships.
